Si el redoble de las campanas de la Iglesia convocaba a sus fieles a misa cada domingo, el silbido
generado por las calderas del galpón de Herrería, llamaba a los cientos de obreros -sin importar
creencia o religión- a cumplir con la jornada laboral en los Talleres Noroeste. En alguna mañana de
1908 sonó por primera vez el silbato o pito del Noroeste y se mantuvo, semana a semana, durante décadas.
